I Like Your Christ
I Like Your Christ

The late Hindu leader, Mahatma Gandhi once wrote, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”
If you’re wondering why people are abandoning the church and seemingly, turning their backs on Jesus all around the world, it’s because they feel the same as Gandhi, yet lack his wisdom and insight. They have heard the religious rhetoric of most “so-called,” Christians and decided that, like Gandhi, they don’t like us, and therefore, they figure our Christ must be just like us. He is not.
In fact, for the most part, our Christ is nothing like today’s Christians. On almost every standard to which we hold important Christ holds no such standard. To almost everything we declare in His glorious name He never even thought, much less ever said such politically charged, hate-filled words. And to the way we treat those who are different from us, or those who disagree with us, it goes without saying that Jesus has already addressed that in Matthew 23 when He said, “You have no idea who I am, where I came from, or where I am going.” He may as well have added, “You can’t even quote me correctly when I said to simply treat ALL people the way you would like to be treated.”
People are not running away from Christ and His Church, they just think they are. They’re running away from the anger, judgment, and curse of religion, and to that I say, “RUN quickly!” You haven’t missed a thing worth holding on to.
A sad truth is soon approaching. Jesus is indeed, coming back again. Contrary to blood moon, and fear prophets, no one has a clue as to when that will be – not even Jesus Himself. Nevertheless, when He does return millions who have rejected Him will look at us with astonished confusion to say, “If you had ever told me that this is what your Jesus is like I would have fallen into His loving arms and loved Him all of my days.”
The sad truth is that we have presented them with the antichrist – an evil antonym of our Christ that Lucifer’s religious spirit has created and presented as true, and transforming. This antichrist is anything “but” true, and transforming. On the day of His return the world will finally see our Christ, and the beast that we have presented in the name of religion will forever find its place within the lake of fire, along with Lucifer and every demon spirit.
It is time to stop passing the buck. The accountability falls squarely on our shoulders, the children of God as to why the world is confused about our Christ. Only the most simple minded of earthly fools would reject the glory of our Christ when He is lifted high for all to see. Until they see Him for who He is, and what He has finished on their behalf, by the multitudes, the world will continue to reject the beast of religion that Christians continue to lift in His place.
They miss so much of life that was purchased for “all men” by the blood of Jesus by reasoning, “I have seen those who bear your name in anger, judgment, and self-righteousness. This must be what Christ is like. He must be angry, judgmental, and full of Himself.”
He is none of these things. Our sweet Jesus is Humility personified – Grace perfected – and Love proven, by the sacrifice of His life for all.
