Great Is The Lord
By; Danny Wallace
Great is the Lord, and great is His name to be praised in all the earth! Words come, and words go, but the words of Jesus stand true, bringing hope and healing forevermore.
From birth to death, with no catastrophic events to interfere with life’s flow – life is short, at best. We each have 24 hours that are guaranteed. Nothing else is promised, or sure to come. Knowing this, what we choose to do and say within each 24-hour period speaks volumes to both the “content,” and intent of our heart.
More than any other caution in scripture we are encouraged to guard our lips. Our words bring the healing balm of Gilead, or they bring a death of heart and spirit that surpasses earth’s greatest afflictions. This great power is under our absolute control, and given, or withheld at our sole discretion.
Therefore, how important is it for us to think before we speak – preview, before we publish – and never underestimate the glory of silence when nothing else can stop the flow of verbal poison?
Are you standing in the tragic results of offering a word less glorious? If so, you’re not alone. We’ve all made that mistake at one time or another in our lives. The Good News is we’ve been given an opportunity to speak again. Avoid the pain of lesser words and speak this glorious word for all to hear. Great is the Lord, and great is His name to be praised!
